Baby #2

In case you havn't read the previous post... we're pregnant and anxiously awaiting #2, April 3. We had our 20 week ultrasound this week and it's a BOY! Here are a few pictures of our precious little one. They said all looks good and 100% boy. The first picture is of his face looking up at you. The second is a 4D profile picture.

Catching up yet again!

Hello friends. The Westermans have been a little preoccupied since our last post. The time line is as follws: days after my last post, dad suffered a major heart attack resulting in a significant amount of damage. Praise the Lord he is still with us and doing better. Days after he got home from the hospital we found we were PREGNANT with number 2! Days after this big news my sister and her family moved to Germany (for 3 years). Days after finally returning home from all that, first trimester fatigue and comatose sleep set in. Now months later, I feel as if I am still attempting to catch up on life. Davis turned 2 this week and we found out that we are having another BOY! Here are some pictures from late summer.

Playing Catch Up!

I am realizing that I am not the best blogger. I so enjoy reading yall's and looking at your fun pictures, so here is a post to make up for the last couple of months...

daddy swap! baby liv and "bruce" a.k.a hal (we're not sure where bruce came from, but he consistently called hal this). we went to visit ashley, hal and new baby liv in may.
we took baby liv on her first walk. ashley and hal's neighborhood has a fun splash park.

best buddies: "day-days" & "coook" (luke)
feeding the sheep at the farmer's market (just for the kids, not for sale... right?)

our favorite thing to do on daddy's day off is to feed the fish and "cack-cacks" at the gardens. this duck is not scared at all. it ate out of patrick's hand!

tried popsicles for the first time... not so much. i love the look of fear on his face.
who knew kids didn't like popsicles.

we have since tried them again and with the pressure of other friends grew to love "opsills"

water break at the park with his girl-buddy ella

pj day at mdo...
nothing like a little dancing to the tunes of the fridge farm to get you going in the morning!

the thought of ice cream and davis makes me laugh. he wants to dive right in, but the cold on his teeth gets him every time forcing him to take tiny licks with the very tip of his tongue...
very funny or "money" as he would say.

his "truck"

he came out of the kitchen with this hat on one day

it's hard to catch smiles on camera these days... i love this one i caught by accident

Garden Updates

I have to brag on our garden. It is huge! It has been so fun to see things grow each week. Click here for more info on the garden club. Davis is still mostly interested in eating & playing in the dirt, but I have learned a lot. Hopefully the labor I have put into it will help me expand my palate this summer. So far we have picked lettuce, onions, strawberries, lots of herbs and most recently green beans! We are eating them tomorrow night. Soon to come cucumbers, corn, yellow squash, zucchini, eggplant, turnips, tomatoes, peppers, potatoes...

these beds contain a lot of the herbs, strawberries, peas, radishes, tomatoes, peppers, turnips, lettuce & onions

the kiddos showing off their freshly picked green beans (it was slip-n-slide day)

I thought it would be fun to periodically get pictures of Davis with the corn to show how it is growing... he did not like this idea!

Easter

A little late... here are some pictures from Easter morning. Apparently we could have skipped the whole thing, Davis went straight to his beloved golf clubs. They were the best $5 we have spent on the child yet. Luring him with jelly bean filled eggs, we finally got him to come look in his basket. Nothing like a good healthy breakfast of goldfish, jelly beans and yogurt melts!

have I mentioned we are obsessed with golf!

the easter bunnies were so excited about the yellow car, you shake it to rev the engine and then it goes by itself... Davis still has never played with itand is possibly scared of it

"Aabbles, Aabbles!!!" AKA Bubbles, Bubbles!!!

Checking out his basket later that day (again with his "goff")

Garden Club

Let me just begin by saying that we were gardening way before the Obamas made it cool. Our neighborhood friends started a rather large community garden (to provide for ~10 families). Each family has chipped in to help grow our summer veggies! We meet on fridays to plant and tend the garden. Davis is in it strictly for the dirt and snacks, but it has really been fun so far. We began a lot the plants from seeds (which lived with us for a few months). Stay tuned for pictures of our plants as they grow.
