Crafting with Peeps

MC this post is for you. I loved your post about wishing for a front door so you could make this wreath. Since I have a front door, I love to craft and I absolutely love Peeps it was a must. My favorite part of its construction was the tip to use stale Peeps because they are not as sticky and will cut better. I just love a good stale Peep that has been sitting on the counter (or in an Easter basket) a few days. I think the wreath, while very easy to make like crafty blogger said, is not all weather proof or even morning dew proof. I think it might be better suited for an inside apartment front door. So MC do remember for next year.

New Kicks and New Hardware

I can't remember who we have told and who we have not, so here is our latest and hopefully last piece of hardware. Davis got his SureSteps yesterday. They are orthotics that he wears on both feet to help stabilize and allow everything to grow and strengthen the right way. We opted for the construction theme and they came with these cute new balances. For those that do not know, Davis was born with his right foot up, completely against his shin (possibly stuck in a rib?). Fortunately it did not require further medical treatment than stretching (at each diaper change!) and a trip to Children's to the ortho doctor, but now that he is walking this is the next step. I say last peice of hardware referring to Davis's helmet (add to the list torticollis and plagiocephally). Apparently Davis was a little "crowded" in there. That was pre-blogging days, so I included some pictures because, well they are just too cute not to show off!

Our first taste of spring

Finally, some warm weather! These pics are a little dated. It has since gotten cold, but beginning to warm once again, hopefully for good. This day was such a big boy day for Davis. Earlier we had gone to the park with some friends where he played in the creek, threw rocks, got muddy and had to be stripped down to his diaper in the parking lot before getting in the car. Then after his nap we went to the Gardens to feed the fish. After practicing with rocks all morning, he was a pro at throwing in the food. I am so blessed to have great friends with young boys. They have taught me what little boys do!

Alternative forms of fun...

It has been so cold lately, we have been forced to stay inside more. Davis doesn't seem to mind the cold, but I sure do! He usually plays so good, going to each room and playing for a bit and then on to the next. Lately, Not so much! Davis has recently mastered getting into the cabinet that houses the DVD player and his movies. He requests (should I say demands) his Baby Einstein movies all the time... sometimes back to back. Baby McDonald is his new favorite. He is in love with the tractors! I have been sick, so one day I gave in for a total of 3 maybe...4 movies, Yikes! I think I created a monster.

Overwhelmed & Inspired

Hi friends, have I found the site for you to start your new year off right. I could go on and on and on describing it, but I just don't think I could do it justice. Let's just say that after reading her past blogs, I immediatley went and swept my whole house and had the mop ready to go, but Davis woke up. You must check it out. My OCD self will not allow me to truly begin until Feb. 1, but that will come soon enough. Similar to FLyLady, but for your whole life! It encompasses everything from cleaning your house to meals for the month complete with a shopping list! Nikki began the blog as accountability for herself. Each day has a theme and a goal. I am very excited about this since I lack that internal drive to do these things on my own, especially cleaning. Other great fun her site introduced me to was The Grocery Game. Lots of fun... I saved almost $50 on my last trip to the store. It tells you how and when to use your coupons according to stores' sales in order to save the most money. Remember me if you sign up!!! Christmas Fun!

We had a wonderful and blessed Christmas season. It was very busy, but so fun. We wouldn't have wanted it any other way. It's just not Christmas unless you see as much of your family as possible! Davis had a blast playing with all his cousins, especially his "GaGe" and his "Ninny" (Gracie & Sydney), Jackson was just a too little tricky to say.

First Haircut

Davis had his first haricut last month. Apparently if your child has hair, especially curly hair they are a girl, despite what boyish clothing they may be wearing. After being called a girl on multiple occasions and some bad hair days (see pics below) we decided it was time. I wasn't sure if I was ready or not. He has such sweet little curls. Faith assured me she would just trim around his ears and even up the rest. Now, I am so glad we had it cut, it's thicker and curlier than before. He sat in the chair all by himself. I had packed a bag full of his favorite untouchables (nail clippers, medicine bottles, makeup tubes, toothbrush, etc). Between that and crackers, we only had to break out the passy once. I think the real fun came from the entourage that went with us. Our appointment had to be later so Patrick could come from work, then Mimi and Nami (both grandmothers) couldn't miss it either. I couldn't resist including some pics that inspired our recent cut.
